Individual Psychotherapy in Toronto
A confidential, collaborative space to understand yourself more deeply, work through what is weighing on you, and build a life that feels truer to who you are. With licensed therapists, in person at our Dupont Street office or online across Ontario.

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy – sometimes called “talk therapy” – is a confidential, evidence-based conversation between you and a trained mental health professional. Its purpose is to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to develop healthier ways of responding to the challenges in your life.
In individual psychotherapy, you meet one-on-one with your therapist. The relationship itself is part of the work – it offers a steady, non-judgmental space where you can be honest about what is happening inside you, often more openly than you can be anywhere else.
Psychotherapy is regulated in Ontario by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). All clinicians at PsyToronto are licensed members in good standing.

Types of psychotherapy we offer
Our therapists are trained in multiple modalities. We integrate approaches based on your goals – not the other way around.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
A structured, evidence-based approach that targets unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. Highly effective for anxiety, depression, and panic.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Present-moment practices integrated with psychotherapy. Effective for stress, rumination, and emotional regulation.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Helps you accept difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with your values. Excellent for chronic worry, perfectionism, and life transitions.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Explores how early experiences and unconscious patterns shape your present. Especially helpful for long-standing relational themes and self-understanding.
Somatic & Trauma-Informed Therapy
Body-aware approaches that help regulate the nervous system. Effective for trauma, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm.
Integrative Therapy
Most of our therapists draw flexibly from several modalities – combining what works best for your goals, history, and pace.
What to expect in a session
Sessions are 50 minutes. They are private, confidential, and entirely yours.
A consistent rhythm
Most clients meet their therapist weekly or biweekly. Consistency helps the work build over time.
